Freshen Up Your Footwear (and Life) with Peppermint

Whether it’s required by your job, or you’re wearing sneakers to exercise, closed-toe shoes will inevitably become less than fresh (especially in during the summer months). All you need to do to have to stop the stink is add a few drops of peppermint essential oil (I like this one from Aura Cacia) to the inside of your shoes before or after wearing them. And, not only will peppermint oil prevent odors, but the scent will also energize and soothe you at the same time.

Peppermint oil can also be used a natural remedy for motion sickness, dandruff, and nasal congestion simply by inhaling its scent or applying directly to the problem area (i.e. scalp for dandruff relief).

And though it’s synonymous with the winter holidays, peppermint scented body care products (such as a homemade salt scrub) can and should be used year-round to help ward off stress.
